Rev Jenn Kang Extended Bio

Jenn Kang 2019 picRev Jenn is an Appointed Designated Minister who has served Clergy Support Memorial Church since September 26th, 2015. She loves celebrating the sacraments of Marriage, Baptisms and Bereavement Care. In addition, she has a very active ministry of Pastoral Care and Counselling. Her moto is :’When trouble comes I go!’.

Previously before joining Clergy Support, she was associated with L’Arche – Cape Breton and the Katimavik.org program. She also was associated with Habitat for Humanity in Southern India doing relief work after the tsunami there.

  • Je Prends Ma Place (Making My Way) Award – for community involvement in the Estrie region of Quebec

Community Organizations

I am a member of the Green Party of Nova Scotia and served on the Executive Board as Membership Secretary for several months and also helped update some of the amendments and by-laws. I helped plan and facilitate the Annual General Meeting.

I was on the organizing committee of a Women in Politics: 100 Years of Progress conference that took place in April 2018 in Halifax.

I was a board member of Kings Community Action Group on Gambling and we helped raise awareness about the harms gambling can cause in communities.

Hobbies

I enjoy reading and restoring found objects.

Theology

Through the winter I participated in a six-week live online discussion group course called “Introduction to Quaker and Friends’ Ways” about the history of Quakerism and how people are living that faith presently.

I took a micro research course to learn about applying for grants to benefit the local community.

Personal Growth and Study

I am currently studying Spanish and Portuguese.

I donate money to entrepreneurs around the world through microloans with the Kiva community program.
